    Supporting Student Success @ AAMC

Al Ain Men's College is one of the smaller colleges within the Higher Colleges of Technology and we are proud to be one of the colleges that take student success rate seriously. Our faculty and staff ensure that students are given appropriate and sufficient teaching and learning opportunities to equip them with the necessary tools to succeed at the HCT learning environment.

    Student Counselling

The Al Ain Colleges have a dedicated student counsellor who is available for consultation with students who may be having academic or personal difficulties. We endeavour to get feedback from content teachers about each student and determine which ones may be in situations that interfere with their class performance and social adjustment. The College Counsellor helps such students find solutions to their problems and coordinates with other department or staff to facilitate the student's academic and personal growth.

    Parents & Sponsor Feedback

Program Supervisors are in constant communications with parents, guardians and student sponsors to share information and give feedback. Aside from a day set aside for parents to meet all faculty and staff of the college, parents and sponsors are welcome anytime to visit AAMC and check on how their ward is doing. Student Services and the departments work closely together to moniter each student's performance and immediately advises parents, guardians or sponsors about pertinent or problematic issues..

    Remediation Support

Students in their Foundations year may have a difficult time adjusting to the HCT learning enviroment and as such, content teachers offer remediation to students who are in danger of failure. Early on, student performance is monitored and appropriate remediation efforts are given to each on a case-to-case basis where revision materials are tailored to each student's needs. AAMC faculty and staff work together to ensure we help all students in this area.

    Independent & Lifelong Learning

We encourage our students to be more pro-active and take responsibility for their learning process. This promotes accountability and develops them into mature, organised and self-motivated individuals. AAMC supports and promotes independent learning opportunities for students to be able to take charge of their learning and become efficient in time management, building their own portfolios and becoming lifelong learners.

    Leadership & Teamwork

Students are given every opportunity to exhibit their talents and showcase their innate abilities. Sections elect student leaders and deputy student leaders and have certain roles in their class. Team building opportunities and activities that give students a chance to work together and bond are also scheduled throughout the academic year. Rewards and distinction for student leaders and best teams are also awarded to encourage camaraderie, positive attitude, healthy competition and lively team spirit.

    Community Links & Field Trips

AAMC invites staff and students from local high schools in Al Ain as well as community partners to visit the college as well as participate in relevant and related activities from public and private institutions in the area. We also schedule educational and worthwhile outings and field trips to partner organisations or establishments to provide students opportunities to practice what they have learned or witness how learning and educated individuals play crucial roles in community development and a country's growth.
